wakulla walker: a walk through north florida’s water system
this video follows “wakulla walker” along the path of north florida’s watershed. starting with the unique karst landscape of wakulla and moving through the unique landforms that water travels through to enter and exit the underground aquifer.
karsts are areas where the topography is formed from the dissolution of soluble carbonate rocks.
throughout the journey, the impacts of carried pollutants on the interconnected systems are explained. this fun adventure with wakulla walker hopes to teach middle school-aged students about hydrogeology and the interconnectedness of their local water system.
