emma holm-olsen is a graduate student at the middlebury institute of international studies at monterey, studying environmental policy and management, with a focus on ocean and coastal ecosystems. she is passionate about the intersection of conservation, policy, and communication, and is particularly interested in marine spatial planning, sustainable fisheries and science-based ocean management strategies. emma has lived all over the world, but for the past several years has been fortunate to call central california home. in her (limited) free time she enjoys reading on the beach, tide pooling, watching murder mysteries & playing board games.
